Not only are cameos their own distinctive work of art, but they are untouched, classic jewelery beauties, that have the ability of transcending generations and styles alike.
My personal cameo was given to me by my grandmother.
I remember my disbelief when she explained to me an artist had delicately carved the serene face of a lady into a creamy conch shell or piece of coral. The details of her face were such smooth perfection that I could not for the life of me wrap my mind around someone being
capable of creating something so flawless!
Although many people find them dated in this day and age, there is nothing I see more complimentary for a vintage bride than an heirloom brooch worn on the hip of her wedding gown (especially if dress rouching gathers to the side).
Rings make for a beautiful accent as well (I love how the creamy color of the shell gets picked up beside wedding whites and darker jewel platforms).
